Wednesday Night Suppers

During the school year on Wednesday's at 5:30 we serve a free community meal. We do this to serve you in the middle of your busy life. While most of our focus on Wednesday is on children and students, we encourage everyone to come to our Wednesday Night Suppers.

Feeding The Hungry

One way Jesus frequently shared His love with others was by sharing a meal. So we follow His example by serving in the local homeless shelter (the Lincoln Connection) at least once a month and at the Salvation Army at least once a quarter. We have volunteers that help distribute food at one of the local food pantries and we do two or three food drives to stock those pantries each year.

There are several ways to partner with us in Feeding the Hungry; You can donate to the ministry, bring a side-salad or desert to a meal we serve, or simply show up and help dish out the food.

Listed below are the next opportunities coming up to volunteer with our missions committee.

Volunteer Opportunities

Hang tight while we look up scheduled events...

John Wesley founded the Methodist Movement over 250 years ago. Part of that movement challenged Christ followers to connect and gather outside of worship. Today we call these gatherings Small Groups.

Small Groups meet throughout the week at various locations and usually consist of 5 to 12 people. Their goal is to connect with each other and Christ. While we have a few groups that meet weekly and are on-going, we have many groups that will meet for a short 6 to 8 week series.

We also offer specific one time groups like Financial Peace University and Alpha. Groups like these give you tools to change the way you live and take a big step toward following Christ.

Worship | Music Ministry

We worship through music to express our gratitude and trust to our Father in Heaven. Here at First Church we have a powerful music ministry that will inspire you to worship. For more information on any of these music opportunities fill out the form below.

  • Chancel Choir

We are always looking for beautiful voices to join our choir.  The only requirement is that you have a desire to sing about Jesus with others. Our Choir sings three to four times a month at our 10:30 Worship gathering on Sunday and practices on Wednesday's at 7:00.

  • Tintinnabulators | Bell Choir

The Tintinnabulators play a five octave set of hand bells, chimes, and more. They practice on Wednesdays and play about once a month on Sundays at our 10:30 Worship gathering.

  • First Church Worship | The Band

First Church Worship Band covers a verity of styles and utilizes a full band every Sunday at our 9:00 worship gathering. Instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome to try out anytime.

  • Tech Team

With awesome worship comes awesome responsibility... or something. The Tech Team provides a place for people that want to help with sound, music equipment, and screens. While you don't have to be a musician to be on this team, you can still help provide a meaningful worship environment.

  • Special Music

We also have some incredible musicians who worship to a beat of their own. From solos to ensembles these musicians will share music at our 10:30 Sunday Worship and/or 6:15 Saturday Worship.

The United Methodist Women is a long lasting part of our heritage as United Methodists. This large group of ladies come together to grow spiritually and serve our church and the community. This passionate group of women also help us care for those who are grieving by preparing and serving meals after funerals at First Church.

The Purpose of The United Methodist Women | "The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church."
