Sharing the love of Jesus with children is the first step in leaving a spiritual legacy for the next generation of Christ followers. Our goal is to provide a high-quality ministry that sets the building blocks for the spiritual formation of elementary aged students.

Wednesday Nights

BLAST, a Pre-K to 5th grade ministry, not unlike our Vacation Bible School, is held on Wednesday nights during the school year. We start at 5:30 p.m. with a family-buffet style dinner, then we start at 6:00. The young students will split into their classes (sorted by age) and have fun learning about Jesus. The night ends at 7:15.

If you are new to First Church and would like to pre-register your child for BLAST, then click here! We also register children here at the door from 5:30 to 6:00.

Weekend Worship

We believe everyone should be in worship! That includes infants, children, and well... everyone! We provide worship bags for children who struggle sitting for more than a minute. All three of our services are laid back enough that children can make a little noise. For more information on our worship times click here.

We also encourage children to take 'notes' or color a picture in the notes section of the bulletin to give to Pastor Doug after worship!

On Sunday morning at 10:30 Cornerstone worship Pastor Doug takes a moment to greet and engage with our Children in a children's moment during worship. He always has a short story for the children to ponder during worship.

Children's Choir

Singing together is an ancient tradition of the church and something we still practice today. At First Church we sing a variety of music and a ton of new music.

During the school year our children are invited to learn songs at BLAST on Wednesday evenings and sing in worship once a month at our 10:30 Cornerstone Worship.

Children's Choir Christmas Music

All third and fourth graders are invited to participate in an Acolyte (Candlelighter) Class each fall.  Over a four week class, the children will learn about Holy Communion, Holy Baptism, Christian symbols, the images in the stained glass windows, and, of course, how to light candles and assist in worship.

At the beginning of each school year in September we give a new Bible to all Kindergartners and Third graders. Kindergartners receive a Bible that is written for their comprehension and illustrated in a way to help them begin understanding the Bible. Third graders will receive a full-text Bible that engages them and encourages them to really dive in to this amazing book.

If you would like your child to receive a Bible email us at

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is one of our favorite times of year. For five nights in July we pull out all the stops to share the love of Jesus with all children. Check out more on this awesome event here.
