About Us

Going to church can make anyone anxious. We work hard to provide a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

Every weekend we encourage families to experience worship together.  In fact, we encourage it so much, that our Student and Children's ministry takes place on Wednesday nights instead of Sundays. We also offer adult small groups throughout the week. So bring the whole family to worship!

We have a relaxed worship atmosphere.  We are not afraid of a good old pair of jeans, a t-shirt or even tennis shoes.  Come as you are and be who you are.  You will fit right in!

Weekend Worship

We want your worship experience at First Church to be a great one. If you want to hang back and observe for a while that’s no problem; no pressure!

If you want to meet a few people and learn more about us, you could join one of our small groups or visit us on a Wednesday night for supper (during the school year)!

Whatever you decide, you will be greeted with a warm environment, great music, and teaching that will make you think; you are welcome here!  Check us out this week!

Worship Times

Saturday 6:15 p.m. | Sunday 9:00 a.m. | Sunday 10:30 a.m.

  • Chapel Worship | Saturday 6:15

Every Saturday evening at 6:15, we gather in the chapel for worship.  We sing hymns accompanied by a piano and hear a great message from our pastor. We usually finish up about 7:00 but feel free to come early and enjoy meeting some of our great 'Saturday Night-ers!'

  • The Rock | Sunday 9:00

Come experience a new style of worship on Sunday morning.  It is loud, it is engaging, and you are going to love it.  In this worship experience, we use pop inspired music and relevant topics to create meaningful worship.  Whether you have been a church goer your whole life or this is a venture into new territory, you will find a home here.  This service is about an hour long.

  • Cornerstone | Sunday 10:30

At 10:30 a.m. our worship experience changes pace and we celebrate our heritage with a powerful and impactful service.  We engage the Holy Spirit through hymns accompanied by the organ and/or piano.  Pastor Doug will share a message that will challenge and encourage you to grow your relationship with Christ. This service is about an hour long.

Our Mission

Our mission is to leave a spiritual legacy for the next generation of Christ-followers!

Our Strategy

Growing a Children's Ministry that is Christ-centered, based on the Bible, and filled with enthusiasm for the purpose of making and growing disciples of Jesus Christ.

Building a Student Ministry that is focused on inviting and growing students and their friends in an initial and then deeper relationship with Christ so they may make and grow other students as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Developing spiritually mature adults who see the focus of the church and their service as reaching and growing those who are the next generation of Christian leaders for the purpose of transforming our world.

Communion

Communion is the symbol of the loaf and the cup. They indicate God's amazing love in the life, death, and resurrection of God's only son, Jesus.

The focus of Communion is the sacrifice and death of Jesus on the cross.  In Jesus' death is salvation; we are saved from the power of sin and death through God's forgiveness while we are being saved for abundant life now and eternal life in heaven. Everyone is welcome to receive Communion at First Church.

We serve Communion at...

  • The Rock 9:00 Worship | Every Sunday.
  • Cornerstone 10:30 Worship | First Sunday of every month.
  • Saturday 6:15 Worship | Saturday before the first Sunday of each month.
  • Nursing Homes | Friday morning after the first Sunday of each month.
  • Maundy Thursday Worship | Thursday evening before Easter Sunday.
  • Christmas Eve Worship | December 24 at 5:00, 7:00, and 11:00 p.m.

Baptism

Baptism is the symbol indicating God’s amazing, never-ending grace and our desire to live a life of holiness through Jesus Christ.  For this reason, we do not "re-baptize" those who have already experienced baptism.

First Church baptizes all ages (infant through adult) during worship and in all ways; sprinkling, and pouring. We also do immersion at our Baptism at the Lake in July. Baptism always follows a conversation with our pastor.

Membership

You don't have to be a member to fit in at First Church. In fact, you can participate in all of our ministries without becoming a member. Becoming a member of First Church is a commitment you make to follow Christ and to support First Church.

Becoming a member is easy. Simply come to 'Dinner with the Pastor' and then let us receive you in worship. To RSVP for the next dinner or for questions call the church office at 532-1478 or email kendra@firstchurchnp.com.

Meet Our Team

Our team exists to equip you for ministry. We want to help you serve and volunteer your time and talents in a way that draws you nearer to Christ. Without people like you and your heart for Jesus, we wouldn't exist.
