In this position you will...

  • Implement policies, procedures, standards, record keeping, and other written instructions
  • Maintain state licensing, policies, procedures, programs, and objectives.
  • Create and maintain class rosters in consultation with the teachers.
  • Help create a budget and oversee spending, tuition, and fundraisers.
  • Supervise preschool staff including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure staff have current certifications.
  • Attend meetings of the Preschool Board.
  • Work with Church staff on facility and ministry coordination.
  • Oversee parent contact, questions, and concerns and interact with families.
  • Assist teachers with discipline issues, and coordinate or serve as substitute.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position you must meet approval after a criminal history check, registry check and fingerprinting. You also must have at least one of the following:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education, or child/youth development.
  2. Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with at least six credit hours in early childhood education, education, or child/youth development.
  3. Have an associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education, or child/youth development.
  4. Have a Child Development Associate Credential.
  5. Have successfully completed six credit hours or 36 clock hours of Department approved training in administration, early childhood education, education, or child/youth development. Business courses may be included, not to exceed one-half of the credit or clock hour requirements.
  6. Have a high school diploma or GED and 3,000 clocked hours (18 months) of verifiable experience in organized group activities for school-age children as indicated by a positive reference from a former employer or supervisor.
